Marisa Picheny, Psy.D.

I am a New York and Florida Telehealth licensed, clinical psychologist working with individuals in a primarily telehealth environment. I believe that the initial focus of treatment is to create a strong therapeutic alliance, such that each patient feels a sense of comfort walking into the therapy room and feels safe engaging and communicating in treatment. As a therapist, I am thoughtful and deeply empathic. I focus on understanding the history of each of my patients, as well as the systems in which they function in order to address the challenges that each patient faces.
I received my doctoral degree in School-Clinical Child Psychology at Pace University and completed my training at Jewish Child Care Association, providing clinical services to traumatized children and adolescents in the foster care system. In addition to providing therapy to individuals in private practice, I also provide therapy and memory care services in the Geriatric community.
I focus my practice on the treatment of anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders and life transitions, parental support and parenting challenges, and relationship concerns. Additionally, I am Health at Every Size (HAES) informed and utilize this framework to help patients with challenging relationships with food and exercise.
